The goal of MissionABC is based on Matthew 18:3 which celebrates the purity of children.  Jesus reminds us in this verse that “unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven”.  Our Lord held children in high regard, and we at Woodson Chapel want to as well. 

 

The goal of this program is two-fold. The first goal is an earthly one. We want to help children succeed in school by giving them the supplies they need in the classroom.  Our second goal is spiritual in that we want the love that Christ has for these children to be reflected through our actions.  In doing so, they will know how much they are loved and treasured by God’s family at Woodson Chapel.

 

Woodson Chapel members are very generous with this program. Each week, school items are listed in the bulletin. Members donate these items and place them in drop off bins. A team of ladies distributes the items to those in need. The process is simple, but the joy of seeing a child open a backpack full of items is such a blessing. It reminds us all that it truly is better to give then to receive.
